Hello guys, recently I bought a thinkpad t420s from ebay, this is a refurbished computer, when I turned it on, it started correctly and could access to the windows installation that came with it. After a reboot to install GNU/Linux the unit didn't boot up, I could hear 5 beeps coming from the computer when I tried to reboot again. The current state of the computer is that every once in a while it will boot but most of the times it won't. Does anyone have a suggestion? I contacted the seller on ebay but for now it's unresponsive. Thanks for any help you can provide

Try to clean or replace the SO-DIMM module(s). T420/s accepts almost every DDR3/L SO-DIMM.

Just an update on this topic, I had to send the laptop back to the seller, since it got to a state it wouldn't do anything. The T420s is dead, hopefully I can get a replacement. For now I'm writing form a T400s with Libreboot + Trisquel 8
