Trisquel 3 (dwin) on Dell Inspiron 1501

Hello!
I'm new and French speaking. I tried Trisquel Robur (amd64) on my Dell Inspiron 1501 With no problem. I used the openfwwf firmware with a 2.6.30 linux-kernel I compiled myself.
I saw you wanted someone to try it with direct install on dwin (kernel 2.6.28 patched). So I download Trisquel 3 and burned it on a cd but it doesn't want to boot on my Inspiron. It stopped loading the kernel at 11%. The CD is correct. I know that because it boots on my Sony VAIO (But this Sony has Intel Pro wireless driver that need iwlwifi. non free firmware). So two things: I can't try the firmware from the repositories; and second: I wish the kernel in the final release of Trisquel 3 will boot on my Inspiron.
Maybe I can Make an upgrade from robur to dwin and keep my 2.6.30 linux-libre on it?
I can say, the problem come from the kernel in the amd64 version because it boots with the 32bits one on the same laptop.
And I don't think it's a burning problem because the 64bits version boots on my Sony vaio.
Some precisions: The inspiron has an amd turion 64x2 processor and the sony has an intel core 2 duo. If it can help.

If it fails to load it into memory (i. e. before actually running it),
then it must be a problem in the cd. Some cd's can be read in a unit
despite failing in another one. Please check it in the failing one using
the "Check CD for defects" entry, to discard the problem.

I agree, and for that reason I have started using Unetbootin with a USB
drive. I would recommend that for testing if you have a drive the disk
will fit onto - because that eliminates all those annoying
potential-bad-burn issues (and will almost certainly be cheaper in the
long run).
Yours,
Morten

I'm very confused. You are absolutely right. I made an ISO image from the CD (I downloaded and burned it at work on Windows) and put it on a USB Key with FUSBI and it load the kernel. So I burned it again on the CD and now all works fine.
