Trouble Typing in Editable PDFs and Renaming Files

Hello, again,

While Trisquel has been working really well for me in everything else that I need to do, I have had one issue that has been quite persistent: whenever renaming a file, or trying to type in a field inside an editable PDF, I can type for the first few fields/files, but then, even though it lets me select the box, whenever I type anything into it, no text is written.

The workaround is, for renaming files in the GUI, to restart the computer; for PDFs, it is to copy/paste the text from a document into the field. If this is the only way for this to be done, it is an inconvenience, but not detrimental; I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and also if anyone has any ideas on how to fix it. Thank you.

Does it help if you change input method from 'Ibus' to 'none'?

I switched it to "None," and it appears to be working well. Why would "Ibus" cause that particular problem?

It was working for a while, but then it started doing the same thing again.

The likely suspect is Nautilus or Ibus.

Install Xournal. It's in the repo. Problem solved.

I installed Xournal, but it allows me to modify the PDF in its entirety, not simply type into a predetermined field. Are you recommending it as simply a workaround, or a fix for my issue?

While it may allow you to edit in its entirety, it also allows you to simply type in the field.
