Okay so I am rather new to trisquel but not Linux, I have understanding of it, but I am unsure on how to install a libre kernel of say 3.19 or 4.0

How would I go about doing this?

Thanks

Here you go: http://jxself.org/linux-libre/

Also, I have *not* tested this repo (I compile the kernel from source, I'm using linux-libre 4.0-rc7) but it seems to work.

Also, Linux is a kernel. The operating system is GNU/Linux.

See e.g. https://gnu.org/gnu/gnu-linux-faq.html

Persona A: And..oh..yeah..Actually it is GNU/Linux.. Linux is just a kernel..

Persona B: It is not important how you call it and also the majority calls it "Linux" and, being that the majority is always right, you are wrong and it is Linux!

Persona A: So you don't mind if I call you "Stink Much Sucker". You are not gonna correct us [points the audience] if we all start calling you like that?

Persona B: Hm..yes..no..
I mean.. Anyway "Linux" is easy to pronounce and "GNU/Linux" would scare the newcomers and they might stick with Windows because they think Linux is complicated and the word GNU is so difficult to pronounce...

Persona A: If you think the word "GNU" is complicated I am probably wasting my time with you.. Have a nice day! [exits slowly with firm pace]
