Abiword generally offers many plugins:
http://abiword.org/wiki/PluginMatrix
One of them is necessary to be able to read docx-files. But hardly any of the plugins are in the Trisquel repositories.
Does anybody know a way to get them?
Packages for Ubuntu are not being built anymore:
http://abisource.com/wiki/Install_on_Ubuntu
If you want the plugins you're being sent here, but that site seems to be outdated:
https://launchpad.net/~abiword-stable/+archive/ubuntu/ppa
To include the PPA as a software source in Synaptic doesn't work, no source found.
The abiword team says they have nothing to do with the plugins.
Is there any activity in this manner anywhere in the Trisquel project?

On this page [1] it says

Note that plugins are not shipped separately anymore, but are shipped in the main AbiWord installer that is available on our download page. Plugins can be selected during the installation of AbiWord.

Have you tried compiling it?

No, i don't know what that is.
Is the only way to get the plugins to delete abiword and install it newly from there with the plugins?
If yes, it is strange that Abiword was chosen as Trisquel Mini's default document editor. It's not only about wanting to read more formats (which is very important) - there are many plugins.
By the way, in the last sentence of my original posting i meant matter, not manner.

Compiling (or building) means turning the source code that humans can read into binary that the computer can run.

Most packages follow the standard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_build_system making it easy to build them.

Abiword seems to have some docu here.

I don't know if it's the only way. What would you have chosen?
