I was using Wire, years ago. Now I use one of the many community-run instances of Jitsi: https://jitsi.github.io/handbook/docs/community/community-instances/
Jitsi does not need anything but a Web browser. In particular, no account needs to be created. At the time, Wire's server was not public, hence a single centralized server. Is it now?
