This is a bug in Ubuntu Precise, but not in later versions. Could you try installing these 2 deb packages from trusty for usb-creator and see if it works? If so, we should backport usb-creator.
My browser said the same thing, but they're .deb packages and you can open with gdebi. Of course, don't try installing them, because the dependencies will not be satisfied.
