The unar package, that provides an archive unpacker that supports a lot of formats (one of them being RARv3). The problem is that this package is not provided in the Trisquel 6.0 repositories when it is on the Trisquel 5.5 repositories.
Is there any non-free part on the package making this non-free or hard to adapt ?
The upstream package "unrar" is non-free.
There should be the package "unrar-free" (from https://gna.org/projects/unrar/ )
As bazzy said the package you are looking for is unrar-free. The package unrar is non-free and is in the ubuntu multiverse (non-free) and thus won't be included.
I don't have the 6.0 ISO at the momemnt. The unrar-free package is upstream in Ubuntu and SHOULD be in 6.0. I am marking this as "needs more info". Could you please confirm if unrar-free is in the repo or not. If it is I will mark this as "wrong"
I'll set it back as active, as I think that aliasbody does actually mean "unar" and he has a point, we should have it back for 6.0
Yes the package I mentioned was unar (http://packages.trisquel.info/hu/brigantia/unar) and not unrar (I know this one was renamed unrar-free after removing the non-free parts).
Ubuntu 11.10 (Trisquel 5.5) uses unar version 1.0. But Ubuntu 12.04 LTS uses 0.99 (the last stable one), when Ubuntu 12.10 uses 1.1. So Trisquel 6.0 should at least have the 0.99 version, since it is a totally free package I don't see any other work to do than a natural packaging no ?
Sorry. I read unar as unrar. My fault.
Updated the helper-script for toutatis: https://gitorious.org/trisquel-package-helpers/helpers/blobs/toutatis/helpers/make-unar
