How do I make objects and text larger in XFCE?

This setting will do it. I usually set it to 120 for high resolution screens, but that's usually up to 1920X1080.

I tried increasing the DPI and that works for many objects and texts. The Pupi theme was excellent, but also work only for the desktop look. All the applications, like Abrowser or system settings, is tiny with tiny text.
I switched to Trisquel standard login, and there applications has a normal workable size. I think both GNOME desktops also scales everything up. One comment I found somewhere said "forget it" about a scaling function for high resolutions in XFCE. That was 2014, but perhaps still true.
Screen is excellent in XFCE, perhaps better than the "scaled" ones in Trisquel and GNOME. But unfortunately to small for my eyes to be comfortable. GNOME Classic is best working so far, but using Alt-F2 in Trisquel standard is also possible. With panels I would definitely go for standard.

I'm a bit unsure what I can do. I'm new in free software, and I thought it easy only to use Trisquel updates to be sure I don't download any non-free material. At the same time I understand Trisquel can't post all updates. Especially not when focus is on a new release. How do I know it is "correct" to download a new version or PPA not from Trisquel?

Maybe that was a 200 pages question? Or 200 year question? :) Still, it's something I wonder about.
