Joining a pair of flies

A friend of mine used to be working on fly eyes, in order to develop new prototypes for drone video systems. That was long ago. I was thinking that, if 3D vision can be achieved in a fly through a pair of eyes, what would be the result of joining the input from the eyes of a pair of flies? Would we go into 4D or 6D? Or possibly 9D?
The original situation that brought up all these thoughts was that I had been using a program on Trisquel 9 that could create 3D views on the fly, based on 360° pictures, but eventually decided to do a fresh install with Aramo instead of gradually upgrading, and cannot seem to remember the name of that program. I am sure it has been mentioned elsewhere in the forum, but could not identify any combination of keywords that would return the proper thread(s).

So what I was looking for is called Hugin: https://hugin.sourceforge.io. It has three separate modules to do the various tasks involved, all available in the Trisquel repo.
I had a good time reading back through that old panoramic 360 thread. What a riot! We sure did a good job of avoiding off-topic-ness, my goodness.

That is a myth. The truth is, one does not stay cool very long in the burn room. It is rumored that some have petitioned for a tepidarium and a frigidarium to be added to the caldarium of the eternal facility, but the petition is stuck in an undefined circle of Hell. So everyone is still sweating the Hell out of themselves.
