I'm trying to stick to the Trisquel repos rather than relying on
external package managers like Emacs's internal package manager, or (the
however venerable) GNU Guix.

I was able to find the following Emacs programs in the package manager
already:

- elpa-transmission
- elpa-notmuch
- elpa-jabber
- emms

I am missing the following Emacs programs:

- Telega: Telegram client for Emacs
- mastodon.el: Mastodon client for Emacs

I can install them with ELPA in the mean time, but I would prefer a
native Trisquel package in the future (perhaps in Trisquel 11).

According to this, telega.el supports E2E encryption, which is arguably a major improvement over the "official" desktop client:

That said, Telegram is now the past to me.

I am having hopes in Briar. The last beta version is very promising, although for the time being rather on the high side of memory usage.

These may be better requested on https://gitlab.trisquel.org/groups/trisquel/-/issues

My acount from devel.trisquel.info was not preserved.

I've created account csh. It needs to be approved first.
