I filed this bug a little while back, but got notification of it being "Confirmed" and hopefully the libre Atheros ath9k_htc firmware makes it into Ubuntu's firmware packages and replaces the old ones:

Good job! It's always a good idea to push improvements upstream, even if it's Ubuntu!

Wonder what the situation is in Debian?

I don't know if they are going to respond to the bug request or if it is in the pipeline. Either way if Ubuntu does it and it moves into Trisquel, then it doesn't affect us directly.

Hi there.

I linked the Debian bug from Launchpad:

Not many people have the understanding and patience to file a proper dual bug like you've done here. Great job!

That doubles Trisquel's odds and helps free Debian and its millions of derivatives.

This free firmware makes me so happy.

I'll actually add to this. Anybody who has a launchpad account should confirm this bug. It'll increase the chances of it being fixed.

Why not filling a bug report against Debian first, and just then to Ubuntu?

UPDATE: I have just noticed your Debian bug report, so please ignore this comment.

Yup! I got an email the other day from the bug tracker about the confirmation.
